Repeated due to popular demand.An opportun ity to gain a better understanding of the non-domestic conventions and how to apply them.\nPre-Booking is required.\nThis is a CPD session specifica lly for NDEAs\nFacilitated by Proficiency Chairman Ian Sturt\, there will be an opportunity to ask about any of the conventions you are not clear on .\nIan has been involved with the conventions groups since early 2011 and has been the primary author of\, or contributed to develoment of\, a signi ficant proportion of the conventions. There are few people in the industry with a better understanding of why they are written the way they are.\nTh e session will consist of:\n\nA summary of the conventions process\nWhat t he conventions group can and cannot do\nAnswers to questions that have bee n submitted ahead of the session\nAnswers to questions from attendees at t he session\nIf time permits\, Ian will then talk through some of the conve ntions that assessors seem to be most prone to getting wrong.\n\nTo get th e most out of this session\, please think about which conventions you don' t really understand. Email your list of those conventions and an indicatio n of what you are unsure of to events@proficiency.services with 'Non-domes tic Conventions Q&A'  in the subject line.\nAny conventions we cannot sati sfactorily explain will be identified and referred to the conventions grou p for clarification.\nThis event is FREE for Proficiency members. It is op en to non-members at a cost of £20. (It makes more sense to join and get a t least 12 sessions like this for free in the year).\nAttendance certifica tes will be added to the member's  CPD record. This is typically sent out about 1 day ahead of the event. For online events we generally use Zoom.\nAround 24 ho urs ahead of the event you will receive a link to register for the event. You can do this any time from then until just before the meeting starts. O nce you have registered you will receive the actual meeting link. Please e nsure you register using your correct full name. This ensures you will get the right name on your CPD certificate (if applicable)\,\n(If there is le ss than 24 hours to go\, please check your junk / spam folder before conta cting us to say you haven't received the link. It will probably be there. If it is not then do contact events@proficiency.services but don't leave i t to the last minute. Once we have started to set up for the session we wi ll not be able to take calls or respond to emails).\nPlease also ensure yo u have tested your set up and both your audio and video are working. If we cannot see you are present we may not be able to issue you with a CPD cer tificate. If you know in advance that you will not have video capability\, please email events@proficiency.services and we will agree an alternative way in which the organisers can verify you were actually present (and hop efully paying attention) for the entire session.\nIf you need to briefly d eal with something like an urgent phone call during the session\, please t urn your video off whilst you do so to avoid a distraction to other attend ees. Video off for short periods of absence will not affect eligibility fo r CPD certificates. Prolonged periods of absence or where video is off so you could be absent\, will prevent us being able to issue a CPD certificat e.
