There are few people in the in dustry with more experience and history of engagement at a strategic level .\nThe session will consist of:\n\nA reminder of the underlying regulation s and guidance\nA review of the DEC conventions\nSome usful tips and resou rces\nAnswers to questions that have been submitted ahead of the session\n Answers to questions from attendees at the session\nIf time permits\, Ian will then talk through some of the things that assessors seem to be most p rone to getting wrong.\n\nTo get the most out of this session\, please thi nk about which principles you don't really understand and/or parts of the process cause you the most concern. Email your list of those points and an indication of what you are unsure of to events@proficiency.services with  'DEC Q&A'  in the subject line.\nAny questions we cannot satisfactorily an swer will be identified and referred to the conventions group\, schemes or DLUHC for clarification.\nThis event is FREE for Proficiency members. This is typically sent out about 1 day ahead of the event. For online events we generally use Zoom.\nAround 24 hours ahead of the event you will receive a link to register for the ev ent. You can do this any time from then until just before the meeting star ts. Once you have registered you will receive the actual meeting link. Ple ase ensure you register using your correct full name. This ensures you wil l get the right name on your CPD certificate (if applicable)\,\n(If there is less than 24 hours to go\, please check your junk / spam folder before contacting us to say you haven't received the link. Once we have started to set up for the session we will not be able to take calls or respond to emails).\nPlease also ensu re you have tested your set up and both your audio and video are working. If we cannot see you are present we may not be able to issue you with a CP D certificate. If you know in advance that you will not have video capabil ity\, please email events@proficiency.services and we will agree an altern ative way in which the organisers can verify you were actually present (an d hopefully paying attention) for the entire session.\nIf you need to brie fly deal with something like an urgent phone call during the session\, ple ase turn your video off whilst you do so to avoid a distraction to other a ttendees. Video off for short periods of absence will not affect eligibili ty for CPD certificates. Prolonged periods of absence or where video is of f so you could be absent\, will prevent us being able to issue a CPD certi ficate.
