 in a better understanding of the non-domestic conventions and how to apply
  them.\nPre-Booking is required.\nThis is a CPD session specifically for N
 DEAs\nFacilitated by Proficiency Chairman Ian Sturt\, there will be an opp
 ortunity to ask about any of the conventions you are not clear on.\nIan ha
 s been involved with the conventions groups since early 2011 and has been 
 the primary author of\, or contributed to development of\, a significant p
 roportion of the conventions. There are few people in the industry with a 
 better understanding of why they are written the way they are.\nThe sessio
 n will consist of:\n\nA brief summary of the conventions process\nWhat the
  conventions group can and cannot do\nAnswers to questions that have been 
 submitted ahead of the session\nAnswers to questions from attendees at the
  session\nIf time permits\, Ian will then talk through some of the convent
 ions that assessors seem to be most prone to getting wrong.\n\nTo get the 
 most out of this session\, please think about which conventions you don't 
 really understand. Email your list of those conventions and an indication 
 of what you are unsure of to events@proficiency.services with 'Non-domesti
 c Conventions Q&A'  in the subject line.\nAny conventions we cannot satisf
 actorily explain will be identified and referred to the conventions group 
 for clarification.\nThis event is FREE for Proficiency members. It is open
  to non-members at a cost of £25. (It makes more sense to join and get at 
 least 12 sessions like this for free in the year).\nAttendance certificate
 s will be added to the member's  CPD record. Non-members will be provided 
 with an attendance certificate to enable them to claim at least an hour of

 lease read carefully\nYou will be sent joining instructions and/or the rel
 evant link ahead of the meeting. This is typically sent out about 1 day ah
 ead of the event. For online events we generally use Zoom.\nAround 24 hour
 s ahead of the event you will receive a link to register for the event. Yo
 u can do this any time from then until just before the meeting starts. Onc
 e you have registered you will receive the actual meeting link. Please ens
 ure you register using your correct full name. This ensures you will get t
 he right name on your CPD certificate (if applicable)\,\n(If there is less
  than 24 hours to go\, please check your junk / spam folder before contact
 ing us to say you haven't received the link. It will probably be there. If
  it is not then do contact events@proficiency.services but don't leave it 
 to the last minute. Once we have started to set up for the session we will
  not be able to take calls or respond to emails).\nPlease also ensure you 
 have tested your set up and both your audio and video are working. If we c
 annot see you are present we may not be able to issue you with a CPD certi
 ficate. If you know in advance that you will not have video capability\, p
 lease email events@proficiency.services and we will agree an alternative w
 ay in which the organisers can verify you were actually present (and hopef
 ully paying attention) for the entire session.\nIf you need to briefly dea
 l with something like an urgent phone call during the session\, please tur
 n your video off whilst you do so to avoid a distraction to other attendee
 s. Video off for short periods of absence will not affect eligibility for 
 CPD certificates. Prolonged periods of absence or where video is off so yo
 u could be absent\, will prevent us being able to issue a CPD certificate.
  This verification of your presence is essential for us to ensure that the
  value of Proficiency CPD certificates is maintained so they can be accept
 ed by accreditation schemes. \n(There are no refunds where CPD certificate
