The session may be slightly less directrly rel evant to NDEAs\, but will provide valuable background knowledge and should be valid for your strand.\nFollowing a brief introduction\, the agenda wi ll be:\n\nProficiency brief update / industry news\nBenefits of insulating  Suspended Timber Floor Voids\n\n\n\n\nBy the end of this session\, you wi ll:\n\n\nUnderstand the historical context\, function\, and moisture risks of Suspended Timber Floors.\n\n\nBe alert to the sources of damp and moul d indoors\, and aware of the merits & limitations of existing mitigations. \n\n\nBe able to assess key considerations for Indoor Air Quality\, ventil ation and airtightness for Suspended Timber Floors.\n\n\nRecognise the imp act of under floor insulation on heat loss\, appreciating the need for air tightness.\n\n\nUnderstand the impact of retrofitting on Radon gas exposu re and strategies to mitigate.\n\n\n\n\n\nWe will then pick up any specifi c AOB items tabled for the meeting or carried forward from the previous me eting.\nThis is followed by an open floor discussion and networking sessio n to close the meeting. Expect this to finish around 5:30 pm but allow som e flexibility if you can as there is a lot to gained from the open discuss ions and networking at the end.\nThis event is FREE for Proficiency member s. It is open to non-members at a cost of £25.
