DESCRIPTION:Bookings for this event will close at midnight the day before t
he event.\nRoom-in-Roof in RdSAP10?\nThere are a number of changes in RdSA
P that we have covered in several previous CPD sessions. One of the most s
ignificant is the treatment of Room-in-Roof.\nIn response to requests from
members\, we have added this more in-depth look at the specific requireme
nts for Room-in-Roof and the likely challenges that assessors will face wh
en adapting to the new approach.\nThe changes to Room-in-Roof in RdSAP10 a
nd how to get it right. We have been fortunate to be able to arrange this t
argetted session with Damien Roberts of Elmhurst. Damien has been very inv
olved in the development of the new approaches\, and with the new conventi
ons which are due to be published to support them.\nPre-Booking is require
d.\nThis high value CPD session will take you through all the significant
changes to the treatment of Room-in-Roof\, so you can collect all the rele
vant information on site. It will then look at some of the more challengin
g scenarios and how to handle them.\nThe agenda will be:\n\nProficiency br
 ief update / industry news\nMain session - Room-in-Roof - The changes\n\n
\nThe principles behind the changes.\nDealing with dormers and/or velux ty
pe windows in combination with flat ceilings / sloped ceilings / vaulted c
eilings. / risers\nLimited access to confirm insulation in some parts\nCon
tinuation walls and mixed (alternative) wall types in the room-in-roof par
 t \nStorey v/s room-in-roof v/s part storey and part room-in-roof\nHow to
treat the 'party' wall\nWhen to accept default U-values and when to use ov
erride values.\nDating roof rooms\n\nWe will then pick up any specific AOB
items tabled for the meeting or carried forward from the previous meeting
.\nThis is followed by an open floor discussion and networking session to
close the meeting. Expect this to finish around 5:30 pm but allow some fle
xibility if you can as there is a lot to gained from the open discussions
and networking at the end.\nThis event is FREE for Proficiency members. It
is open to non-members at a cost of £25. (It makes more sense to join and
get at least 12 sessions like this for free in the year)\nElmhurst member
s can access this event for just £10 using the discount code that has been
provided by Elmhurst to their members. If you can't find it and are an El
mhurst member\, email events@proficiency.services with proof of your membe
rship and we can provide the code.\nAttendance certificates will be added
to the member's  CPD record. Non-members will be provided with an attendan
ce certificate to enable them to claim at least an hour of relevant CPD.\n
NOT A Proficiency MEMBER? Join for just £60 and get free access to this an
d at least 12 hours of CPD like this\, and a listing on the website.(For j
ust £25 more\, as a Premium member get an enhanced listing and other benef
 its).See Membership Benefits (proficiency.services)\n \nHOW IT WORKS - Ple
ase read carefully\nYou will be sent joining instructions and/or the relev
ant link ahead of the meeting. This is typically sent out the evening befo
re the event. For online events we generally use Zoom and highly recommend
you attend on a large screen device.\nThe evening before the event you wi
ll receive a link to register for the event. You can do this any time from
then until just before the meeting starts. Once you have registered you w
ill receive the actual meeting link. Please ensure you register using your
correct full name. This ensures you will get the right name on your CPD c
ertificate (if applicable)\,\n(If by the morning of the event you do not a
ppear to have received the link\, please check your junk / spam folder bef
ore contacting us. It will probably be there. If it is not then do contact
events@proficiency.services (but don't leave it to the last minute. Once
we have started to set up for the session we will not be able to take call
s or respond to emails).\nPlease also ensure you have tested your set up a
nd both your audio and video are working. If we cannot see you are present
we may not be able to issue you with a CPD certificate. If you know in ad
vance that you will not have video capability\, please email events@profic
iency.services and we will agree an alternative way in which the organiser
s can verify you were actually present (and hopefully paying attention) fo
r the entire session.\nIf you need to briefly deal with something like an
urgent phone call during the session\, please turn your video off whilst y
ou do so to avoid a distraction to other attendees. Video off for short pe
riods of absence will not affect eligibility for CPD certificates. Prolong
ed periods of absence or where video is off so you could be absent\, will
prevent us being able to issue a CPD certificate. This verification of you
r presence is essential for us to ensure that the value of Proficiency CPD
certificates is maintained so they can be accepted by accreditation schem
es. \n(There are no refunds where CPD certificates cannot be issued due to
only partial attendance at an event\, or where we are unable to sufficien
 tly verify your presence). https://proficiency.services/events/past-events
