DESCRIPTION:A  CPD session presented by Jason Hewins of Elmhurst Energy.\nP
re-Booking is required.Bookings for this event will close two hours before
the event.\nFuture Homes Standard\, HEM and SAP 10.3\nJoin us for a valua
ble session for On Construction Domestic Energy Assessor(OCDEAs)\, if you
are Domestic Energy Assessor(DEA) the parts on HEM will be useful to you a
s well the future RdSAP methodolgy will change to HEM \nThe Future Homes S
tandard (FHS)\, Home Energy Model (HEM)\, and SAP 10.3 represent a pivotal
shift in UK building regulations\, driving the construction of low-carbon
\, energy-efficient homes as part of the nation's path to net zero by 2050
.\nWhat Jason will cover:\n\n\nThe Future Homes Standard: Discover the cor
e requirements of the FHS\, including targets for 75–80% reductions in car
bon emissions compared to 2013 levels. Explore key elements such as enhanc
ed fabric efficiency\, low-carbon heating systems (with heat pumps becomin
g the default)\, solar PV integration by default\, improved ventilation\,
and 'zero carbon ready' design that aligns with future grid decarbonisatio
n.\n\n\nThe Home Energy Model (HEM): Understand HEM as the government's ne
xt-generation methodology set to replace the longstanding Standard Assessm
ent Procedure (SAP). Learn about its more accurate\, detailed simulation o
f energy use (including factors like thermal bridging and real-world perfo
rmance)\, its role as the primary long-term compliance tool for the FHS (v
ia the ECaaS platform)\, and the phased rollout with a delay ensuring robu
stness.\n\n\nSAP 10.3 as the Interim Bridge: Clarify why SAP 10.3 has been
introduced as the sole approved methodology at FHS launch\, with HEM foll
owing after a minimum 3-month delay. Explore the dual-running period (at l
east 24 months once HEM is available)\, how SAP 10.3 supports FHS complian
ce using updated notional building targets\, and tips for a smooth transit
ion between the two systems.\n\n\n \nThis is followed by an open floor dis
cussion and networking session to close the meeting. Expect this to finish
around 5:30 pm but allow some flexibility if you can as there is a lot to
gained from the open discussions and networking at the end.\nThis event i
s FREE for Proficiency members. It is open to non-members at a cost of £25
. (It makes more sense to join and get at least 12 sessions like this for
free in the year)\nAttendance certificates will be added to the member's
CPD record. Non-members will be provided with an attendance certificate to
enable them to claim at least an hour of relevant CPD.\nNOT A MEMBER? Joi
n for just £60 and get free access to this and at least 12 hours of CPD li
 ke this\, and a listing on the website.(For just £25 more\, as a Premium m
ember get an enhanced listing and other benefits).See Membership Benefits
 (proficiency.services)\n \nHOW IT WORKS - Please read carefully\nYou will
be sent joining instructions and/or the relevant link ahead of the meeting
. This is typically sent out about 1 day ahead of the event. For online ev
ents we generally use Zoom.\nAround 24 hours ahead of the event you will r
eceive a link to register for the event. You can do this any time from the
n until just before the meeting starts. Once you have registered you will
receive the actual meeting link. Please ensure you register using your cor
rect full name. This ensures you will get the right name on your CPD certi
ficate (if applicable)\,\n(If there is less than 24 hours to go\, please c
heck your junk / spam folder before contacting us to say you haven't recei
ved the link. It will probably be there. If it is not then do contact even
ts@proficiency.services but don't leave it to the last minute. Once we hav
e started to set up for the session we will not be able to take calls or r
espond to emails).\nPlease also ensure you have tested your set up and bot
h your audio and video are working. If we cannot see you are present we ma
y not be able to issue you with a CPD certificate. If you know in advance
that you will not have video capability\, please email events@proficiency.
services and we will agree an alternative way in which the organisers can
verify you were actually present (and hopefully paying attention) for the
entire session.\nIf you need to briefly deal with something like an urgent
phone call during the session\, please turn your video off whilst you do
so to avoid a distraction to other attendees. Video off for short periods
of absence will not affect eligibility for CPD certificates. Prolonged per
iods of absence or where video is off so you could be absent\, will preven
t us being able to issue a CPD certificate. This verification of your pres
ence is essential for us to ensure that the value of Proficiency CPD certi
ficates is maintained so they can be accepted by accreditation schemes. \n
(There are no refunds where CPD certificates cannot be issued due to only
partial attendance at an event). https://proficiency.services/events/past-
