Proficiency provides a route to market by connecting members to potential clients. The best example of this is the "Find A Member" online search facility to be found at the top of most site pages.

Beyond that, a tremendous amount of work opportunities are passed on from member to member directly or via the forum. This ranges from services a member doesn't offer themselves, work outside their own geographic area or simply holiday cover so they can actually relax whilst on a well earned break.

Proficiency can provide access to reduced rates on some services and scheme memberships, as well as cost effective continuing personal development (CPD). By keeping their costs down, Proficiency can help members be competitive in the market.

Our frequent Proficiency speaker meetings are friendly events where you can gain business opportunities, access CPD and build support links so that holiday and sickness can be covered. Many of these meetings are virtual so there is no need for you to travel, and some are arranged face to face at venues where we have enough members for a ‘local hub’ event. Membership can massively reduce the uncertainty and stress for individual members through peer support and make meeting your CPD requirements simple.

Proficiency speaks on behalf on members giving you a united voice, both locally and nationally, and works to protect your established business relationships. At Proficiency we believe in the value of local services for local people and promote direct access to members’ services, avoiding national agencies and panels which add cost but not value to the process, and can sometimes even lower standards.

Some of our Premium (Full) members are involved in industry strategy and working groups and positively influence the development of the sectors we operate in.

Please note that Proficiency membership is for individual industry professionals. Each Proficiency member is a real person, not a group or company. Log in details must not be shared with others and all members benefits are provided on a one per member basis. Members may choose to be listed on the public pages using a company or trading name, but the membership must be held by an individual person.

There are two levels of membership. Standard membership is priced at £60 per year and Premium membership at £85 per year.

• Added credibility from being able to use the Proficiency Member logo.
• Access to regular free online meetings providing industry updates, CPD content (certificates provided) and the opportunity to network with other professionals.
• CPD events for members only, or at a reduced cost for members.
• Ability to raise issues with the potential for them to be taken to the conventions groups.
• Earn upgraded or extended membership with the Proficiency reward scheme.
• Access to discounted software, training and/or CPD with a range of providers.

• An enhanced listing on the directory of members to increase your chances of being selected.
• A direct link from your directory listing to your personal profile page to further increase your chances of being selected.
• Additional opportunities to earn extended membership with the Proficiency reward scheme.
• Free access to some CPD which would be chargeable to standard members.
• Increased discount level on other CPD events.
• Premium members can join the Proficiency 'Panel of members', the steering group which guides the Directors. An opportunity to influence the services and future direction of Proficiency.
• Premium members are also eligible to be selected to represent the membership on industry strategy and working groups.
