Once again, it appears that quite a few assessors are scrambling around looking for CPD as it gets towards the end of the year. This seems to be a good time to remind everyone that it does not need to be this way.
Proficiency online CPD sessions are live, interactive and CPD certificates are issued for attending them. We promise a minimum of 12 hours but do prefer to under promise and overachieve. This year we have already provided 27 hours of CPD to our members, and there is at least an hour still to come in December.
The sessions are specifically designed to be very accessible short CPD events; so people can easily tick off the required hours at 1 - 2 hours a month and not have to scramble around looking for CPD at the end of the year. Most of our members will have over 10 hours’ worth of CPD certificates in the bag, well before the end of the CPD year. That takes all the pressure off.
As well as listing the events on the Events (CPD) page, we post reminders on the CPD section of the forum which members are subscribed to by default. We also post reminders on Social Media which you should see if you follow Proficiency.
The upcoming CPD events are bookable at https://proficiency.services/events. (You can see what you have missed at https://proficiency.services/events/past-events)
The December one is specifically for non-domestic. If you are only domestic then unfortunately you just missed a really good 2 hour conventions Q&A last week, but both of the January events will also be relevant for DEAs and RAs.
In just the last 4 months we have provided a total of 11 hours of CPD free of charge to our members. 5 hours was targeted for DEAs, 4.5 hours for NDEAs, 1.5 hours was for DEC Assessors. Quite a lot of our CPD however is relevant across multiple strands.
Some of our industry partners offer discounts for Proficiency members on some of their CPD offerings. Details are at https://proficiency.services/membership-intro/memberoffers.
If any members are still in need of a number of hours, or looking to upgrade their qualifications, there are links to some fully or partially funded courses in the CPD section of the forum at https://proficiency.services/forum/continuing-professional-development
The best way to make achieving your CPD requirements easy (and low cost) is picking it up in bite-sized pieces as regular Proficiency sessions throughout the year. If you are not already a member, then you should be. Join now at https://proficiency.services/membership-intro/membership-benefits
(Reminder that members need to log in first to get access to the free member tickets. If you are not logged in you will only see the non-member tickets).
